Dr Christine Wekerle

Dr. Christine Wekerle (PhD, Clinical Psychology) is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Psychiatry at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, and affiliated with the Offord Centre for Child Studies. 

Dr. Wekerle is an Extraordinary Professor of the Optentia Research Unit at North-West University, in South Africa.  She is Editor-in-Chief of two Elsevier journals, the acclaimed Child Abuse & Neglect journal, and the new open access journal, Child Protection and Practice

Dr. Wekerle’s research is in the fields of child maltreatment, adolescent mental health, gender-based violence, prevention programming and resilience, with over 200 publications.

In this conference, Dr. Wekerle will examine sexual violence victimization among youth with disability.
