Dr David Treanor

Dr. David Treanor is the Director of Safeguarding and Compliance at Australian Catholic Safeguarding Limited. David received his Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Tasmania, Australia where he specialized in Disability, Ethics and Friendship. He became interested in friendship and ethics studies through his personal experiences with people with and intellectual disability. His research on friendship and ethics introduced him to the philosophy of personalism and how human relationality constitutes the fulcrum or essence of human dignity. 

David has worked in government and non-government agencies and managed Accommodation services; Disability Community Teams; Community Access Services; Respite Services and worked in research and evaluation. He also has qualifications in auditing, public administration, social work, social sciences, public and theology. David is also the Chair of the Ethics and Intellectual Disability Special Interest Group (SIRG) for the International Association for the Scientific Study of Intellectual and Developmental Disability (IASSIDD).
