Laureen Lynch-Ryan

Laureen Lynch-Ryan serves as the Coordinator of Deaf Ministry within the Office of Deaf and Disability Ministries for the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Washington, a position she has held since 2009.

In her capacity, she oversees the provision of faith formation for Deaf children and adults at St. Francis Deaf Catholic Church, nationally and internationally.  Her responsibilities encompass sacrament preparations, training for liturgical American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters, and the planning plus coordination of Deaf participation in Archdiocesan-wide events.

Laureen Lynch-Ryan is an accomplished Deaf social worker with almost 30 years’ experience including being an adjunct instructor in Gallaudet University’s Social Work program. Additionally, since 2021, she has been instructing an online course for the Ministry Formation Program for the Deaf.

Currently, Laureen serves on the Board of Directors for two nonprofit organizations: the Deaf Catholic Youth Initiative for the Americas and the Ministry Formation Program for the Deaf.
